Sachin - Still a long way to go................

Sachin - Still a long way to go
“Genius does what it must, talent does what it can” Owen Mereditch

People always have mighty expectations from genius. Sometimes unrealistic, too. They wish to fulfill their dream by someone who is genius. Their hero. For millions of cricket lovers in India, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is perhaps the finest creation of God, if not the ultimate. But alas, the man hasn’t delivered to that extent as we hoped for.
Doubtless, Sachin is the most charismatic and courageous cricketer around yet he has to prove many things. Ever since the venerable Sir Donald Bradman has publicly acknowledged the striking resemblance of his batting style in Sachin’s, the entire nation went berserk in heaping praise over Sachin. Suddenly, Sachin became larger – than –life figure. Little importance was given to the fact that apart from winning some ‘home Test’ matches and some great wins on the benign pitches of the sub-continent, his contribution was not as magnificent as the crazy media made us to believe.
Of course, Sachin’s calibre as a great batsman is beyond doubt but so far he hasn’t been able to translate his enormous potential into epoch-making performances, where he can be bracketed along with the likes of Don Bradman and Garry Sobbers.
Isn’t it a cruel agony that despite having such a phenomenal cricket India hasn’t been able to win a test-series abroad (Read: outside the sub-continent) in past 14 years? At this point apologist may argue that cricket is a team-game and Sachin alone can’t be held responsible for that. Well, but when an Arvinda De Silva or a Chris Cairns can win matches with individual brilliance for their respective teams, why not our Sachin. Undoubtedly, always a mile ahead from his contemporaries.
The other question is that-Has he been hyped a bit too much? Or is he being exaggerated by the media? There is some point here. When have we seen Sachin battling in the fourth innings to save a test match? Barring one or two matches, it is a rarity. Giving one’s best when chips are down, which is the very hallmark of a champion, is unfortunately not the case with Sachin. In this regard, performance of Steve Waugh and to an extent Brian Lara’s is more striking.
If we allow ourselves to go in the pages of history, our very own Sunil Gavaskar in this regard is awesome, indeed. Authoring epic hundreds against the best fast bowling attacks ever in the history of the game, he astounded the whole world. Comparing two individual’s performances and that too, played in different era is not only hazardous but also unfair. Yet it is not too astonishing to hear from old timers that Sunil’s performance is test matches is more enviable.
This article is not mean to belittle the greatness of Sachin. It is not that he is incapable of playing heroic knocks in crunch situation or in the testing condition that will give India its ‘first abroad test’ victory after a gap of more than a decade. He is, and definitely will. But so far, it has come in bits and pieces and even the staunchest fan of Sachin will admit it.
Or may be we are expecting too much too often and not realizing that he is only a human. But huge expectations will always be there whenever he bats for India. That is the only small price he has to pay for his unmatched adulation and unparalleled adoration from his countryman.

Sachin....................

Full Name: Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar
Date of Birth: April 24, 1973
Place of Birth: Mumbai
Major Teams: India, Mumbai
Batting Style: Right -Hand Batsman
Bowling Style: Right Arm Medium, Leg Break, Right Arm Off Break
ODI Debut : India v Pakistan at Gujranwala, 2nd ODI, 1989/90
Test Debut : India v Pakistan at Karachi, 1st Test, 1989/90
Height : 5'5
Sachin Tendulkar-The first batsman to score 10,000 runs in one-day cricket, making the record in the third game of a five-match series against Australia on the 31st of March 2001. He reached the landmark when he scored 34 runs in his 266th match and 259th innings. Tendulkar, 27, in his amazing 12-year career, has scored a world record 28 hundreds and 50 half-centuries in his 10,000 runs.
A genius without a doubt, this little master made his International debut in ODI’s and Tests at the age of 16 against Pakistan against the fiery pace of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. He then went to England as a part of the national side, and has not looked back ever since. The name itself strikes terror in the hearts of bowlers all around the world. Hailed as the next master-blaster following the legacy of the great West Indian Vivian Richards, this man has every shot in the book, and can kill any attack in the world when in full swing. There is nothing this man cannot do.

In batting, he has reached a stage that others can only dream of. He has destroyed practically every bowling attack in the world. Tendulkar's  'specialties' include the straight drive (seemingly nobody plays the shot better than him), the cover drive, the square cut, the pullshot over midwicket/square leg, the delicate leg glance, the late cut, the lofted shots over mid-on and mid-off and not to mention the improvisations he keeps coming up with, time and again. He has tremendous power in his forearms and can hit the ball out of almost every ground in the World. He plays each of his shots amazingly and has even employed the reverse sweep to good effect. Some of his shots are hit with so much power that the ball simply rockets to the fence as if he was trying to dismiss the ball from his presence. On the other hand, some of his shots are neatly timed and placed well. His timing can be quite exquisite and it is this blend of timing and raw power which makes him the world's best/greatest batsman. Mentally very strong, Tendulkar is best when confronted by a challenge.

Some remarkable achievements of his career are:
* 4th highest tally of runs in test cricket (10,134) at an outstanding average of 57.25 (highest among those who have scored over 8,500 test runs) as of March 2005
* Most runs (over 13642) and centuries (38) in one-day internationals
* Only person to have scored over 11,000 ODI runs and over 25 ODI centuries as of April 28, 2005
* Highest ODI batting average among Indian batsmen and among all batsmen who have scored over 7,500 ODI runs (as of April 3, 2005)
* Most Number of Man of the Matches in one-day internationals
* Only player to have over 100 innings of 50+ runs in ODIs as of April 2005
* Most Number of Runs in World Cup Cricket History
* First cricketer to cross 10,000-run mark in ODIs
* Has equalled Sunil Gavaskar's record of 34 test centuries.
* Among those who have played over 100 test matches, he is the only one with a batting average above 55.
* Only second Indian to cross 10,000 runs in Test matches.
* He has the most centuries in ODI cricket against Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
* He is the fastest to score 10,000 runs in test cricket history. He holds this record along with Brian Lara. Both of them achieved this feat in 195 innings.
* To go with this he has 34 hundreds in Test cricket at an average of 57. An average above 50 distinguishes a batsman as an all time great.
* Highest individual score in ODIs among Indian batsmen (186* against New Zealand at Hyderabad in 1999)

While his batting ranks him among the best in the world, he is also a part-time bowler and has played a crucial role as a leg spinner or a medium pace bowler who tends to break partnerships. He has more than a hundred wickets in ODIs and 35 in tests, though his bowling averages are above 40. He continues to perform well under the massive weight of expectation of hundreds of millions of cricket followers, in India and around the world, and most recently was named Player Of The Tournament in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Incidentally, Sachin is the first batsman to be declared run out by third umpire in 1992 in South Africa.

Tendulkar's Dream

Young Sachin had aspired of being a fast bowler. It was this dream that made him undertake trials at Chennai based MRF pace academy, but his small stature proved to be a major hindrance to his aspiring career. ( THANK GOD !!! else the WORLD would have been deprived of such a genius batsman. )

First step towards cricket
Tendulkar's sensational journey to cricket stardom sparked of when his brother Ajit made him meet Mr. R. Achrekar ( Cricket Coach ). Sachin failed to perform in the first go which made him very nervous but his brother's persuasion led Mr. Achrekar give him another chance.

Turning point in his career
It was his change of school to Shardashram Vidya Mandir in Dadar - close to Shivaji Park on his coach's advice which marked a turn around in Sachin's career. He says," I use to bat in four nets at one strech. Whenever, I use to get tired, Achrekar use to keep a one rupee coin on top of the stumps and say, "Anyone who gets him out will take this coin. If no-one gets him, Sachin takes it." Tendulkar till date contributes this technique in being instrumental for enhancing his concentration. He still treasures the 13 coins earned by him during the practice sessions.

Naughty Duo
Sachin and his best pal Vinod Kambli hold the World Record of 664 runs stand for Shardashram School in inter-school tournament in 1988. Tendulkar candidly admits that the total would have never assumed mammoth proportion had he and Kambli not ignored the man waving from the boundary with the coach's message to declare.
Tendulkar's Idol
Tendulkar's idol is the American Tennis superstar-John McEnore. During his young age, he argued and fought for McEnore with his colony friends who supported Swedish Bjorn Borg. Sachin sported a head-band, sweat-band and a tennis racquet showing his staunch loyalty towards his idol.

Family Quirks
Sachin's wife Anjali tends to become nervous while he bats, whereas  his brother has become so superstitious that he allows the family members to only watch the match recording.
His reactions to his dismissals
On pre-mature and early exits, Sachin likes to take out his anger somewhere. He prefers to be left alone, till he cools down.

God's Importance in his life
Tendulkar is a God fearing person, a staunch devotee of Sai Baba, Ganpathi and frequently visits temples during night when it's calm and quiet. He visualizes God in his parents. Religion to him is what his parents have inculcated in him, his upbringing and his way of life. Sachin strongly believes in the concept of re-birth, existence of Hell and Heaven. He loves celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at home with his family and believes that it firms his ties with his loved ones.

How to trace an E-mail

Learn how to trace an email address

Trace an email address in the most popular programs like Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, by finding the header

What is an email header?

Each email you receive comes with headers. The headers contain information about the routing of the message and the originating Internet Protocol address of the message. Not all electronic messeges you receive will allow you to track them back to the originating point and depending on how you send messages determines whether or not they can trace an email address back to you. The headers don't contain any personal information. At most, the results of the trace with show you the origination IP and the computer name that sent the email. After viewing the trace information, the initiating IP can be looked up to determine from where the message was sent. IP address location information DOES NOT contain your street name, house number, or phone number. The trace will most likely determine the city and the ISP the sender used.

How do I get the header to start the trace email process?

Each electronic messaging program will vary as to how you get to the message options. I'll cover the basics to start the trace...the rest is up to you.
  • Outlook - Right click the message while it's in the inbox and choose Message Options. A window will open with the headers in the bottom of the window.
  • Windows Live - Right click the correspondence while it's in the inbox, choose Properties, then click the Details tab.
  • GMail - Open the correspondence. In the upper right corner of the email you'll see the word Reply with a little down arrow to the right. Click the down arrow and choose Show Original.
  • Hotmail - Right click the memo and choose View Message Source.
  • Yahoo! - Right click the note and choose View Full Headers.
  • AOL - Click Action and then View Message Source.
You can see that no matter the program, the headers are usually just a right click away.

I've got the header, now how do I start the trace?

The next step to trace an email address is to find the first IP listed in the header. This is most likely the IP initiating point. However, there are exceptions to this. You'll have to look at the information logically to deduce the originating IP.

Can you trace any email address?

Yes and No. For example, someone who sends a message to your hotmail account shows in the X-Originating IP section of the headers. However, someone who sends you a message from GMail will ONLY trace back to Google IP addresses.
We've got more information in our Trace An Email forum
